Nerul: Responding to complaints by residents in Seawood here about the noise pollution caused by plying motorcycles at breakneck speed on Palm Beach road during the night hours, the Navi Mumbai police commissioner Bipin Kumar and joint police commissioner Dr. Jai Jadhav ordered a special vigil under the guidance of the deputy police commissioner traffic Purushottam Karad by the traffic department on November 7 on Palm Beach road from Moraj circle to NRI complex signal from 8 p.m. to 12 mid-night.

Action was taken against 74 vehicles in this vigil that included 3 motor cyclists on motorcycles over 250 cc modified by installing muffler silencers, whose driving license have been withheld till they replace the original silencer on their motorcycle, motorcyclists without helmet, over-shooting the zebra marking at signals, over speeding, lane cutting and driving without license.

Such special vigil will be implemented by the traffic department on Palm Beach road every week and action taken on violators of the traffic rules, informed the DCP Traffic.
