Mumbai: An atmosphere of depression has created in the situation arising due to Corona. A challenging situation is standing before students and youth. Teachers have to play the role of counselor to bring out the youth from this situation and to make the society aware. Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari made a statement that ‘ Stay home, stay safe ‘ and ‘ be careful and be happy ‘ (Be Careful and Be Cheerful) will have to accept the main mantra (Be Careful and Be Cheerful).

Rashtra Sant Tukdoji Maharaj Nagpur University’s post-graduate psychology department and student development department inaugurated a 7-day online workshop on ‘ Psychological Counseling Training ‘ organized for college teachers by the Governor today from Raj Bhavan, Mumbai, through a visual medium, he was speaking. Depression or depression is a natural trend created in humans. Not only students but teachers, farmers and politicians are sometimes disappointed. The youth of India have received a great legacy of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Maharana Pratap, Guru Govind Singh, so the youth should be fearless and ready to give the country a new direction, the governor said. The workshop has been organized to provide basic training to teachers as counselors and to start a counseling center for students at the college level through their medium.

The Workshop was organized by the Department of Psychology and Department of Students’ Development of the Rashtra Sant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University.

The Workshop aims to train teachers as Counselors who can counsel students about psychological problems in the backdrop of the Corona pandemic situation. Dr. Murlidhar Chandekar, Acting Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Subhash Chaudhary, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, and Dr. Sudhir Bhave, Psychiatrists were present for the inaugural ceremony.
