Newly elected Congress parliamentarians have once again elected Sonia Gandhi as the leader of Congress Parliamentary Party (CCP) after a meeting with party’s MP at the Central Hall of Parliament. The meeting was attended by 52 newly elected Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha members apart from Congress Working Committee (CWC) and other senior leaders.

Confirming the same, party’s chief spokesperson Randeep Surjewala tweeted stating, “Smt. Sonia Gandhi elected as the leader of Congress Parliamentary Party! She says, ‘we thank the 12.13 Cr voters for reposing faith in the Congress Party’.” Sonia Gandhi’s name was suggested by former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Jharkhand MP Jothimani S and Kerala MP K Sudhakaran.

Caught on CAM: Mumbai’s Idli vendor seen using toilet water to make ‘chutni’

A bizarre video is doing the rounds on social media in which a food vendor in Mumbai caught preparing food by using toilet water of a railway station. In the video that is going viral on social media, the Idli vendor can be seen using tap water from a toilet at Borivali railway station to make ‘chutney’. The video has been circulated widely in order to spread awareness about food safety.

As the incident came to light, the FDA has ordered a probe and also issued a warning against using such water. Earlier in March too, the Central Railway (CR) had banned the sale of lemon juice and all syrup-based artificial juices at all its railway station in Mumbai.
