Mumbai: The President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind, unveiled the portrait of Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee, previous Prime Minister of India today on his second death anniversary at the base camp of Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR). Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee served as the ex-officio President of ICCR from March 1977 to August 1979 when he was Foreign Minister.

The President said that nowadays, through this virtual ceremony, we are paying our regards to such a brilliant patriot who made numerous brilliant chapters within the legislative issues of India. He said that Atal Ji was continuously committed to generous considering democratic beliefs. He left a remarkable mark of his unique personality and contributed this virtual ceremony amid his distinctive parts as party labourer, Member of Parliament, Chairman of critical standing Committees of Parliament, Leader of Opposition, Foreign Minister, and Prime Minister. Atal Ji, by his conduct, instructed all political parties and people that the national intrigued was foremost.

The President said that nowadays the whole world was at risk due to Covid-19. But he said that after recovering from this pandemic we’ll move quickly on the path of progress thriving effective in successfully realising Atalji’s dream of making the 21st India’s century. Prior this morning, the President visited the memorial of Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee – Sadaiv Atal to pay respect to the former Prime Minister on his second death anniversary.
