Starting the year on an auspicious note, CIDCO has organized Sankrant Mela 2019 in its Urban Haat premise. The mela denotes a positive beginning to the year as the day is considered to be a favorable start for several communities.

This event is planned from 10th January and is scheduled to go on till 23rd January, 2019. It is scheduled to have more than 50 artisans from various parts of India like Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, West Bengal and more. Crafty products from all these states are to be exhibited and offered for sale to the visitors of the mela.

The mela will have a special attraction as MINDSCAPE; a gathering of ex-students organized by Pillai College of Architecture Alumni Association from 11th to 13th January, 2019 from 07:00 to 09:00 PM is planned. This alumni gathering will include workshops, seminars on exclusive topics from advanced technologies from the world of architecture along with exhibitions and entertaining film shows.

This will be followed by “LAL MATI USTAV” organized by RK Foundation for the 5th non-stop year on 19th and 20th January, 2019 from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM. Food will be another section to watch out for during the Sankrant Mela.

The food court will have preparations from Konkan, Kholapur, Malwani, Kerala and other cuisines especially the food items from the Agri-Koli style of cooking will be up for bites for the foodies. These cuisines are planned to be prepared by SHGs.
