Belapur: The successful journey made by Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation Transport Initiative in the last 25 years is commendable and especially during the Covid period, the way the transport officers and staff provided travel service with a dedicated spirit, expressing their opinion that it is a service to the country. Purushottam Karad said that the road safety campaign should not be limited to that period but will focus on permanent safe travels.
On the occasion of the silver jubilee anniversary of the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation Transport Initiative, he was expressing his thoughts on the event held at Ghansoli Depot by following social distancing and safety rules. This time, the traffic safety campaign in the transport initiative was also launched. He informed that the increase in CNG and electrical buses will be emphasized on driving eco-friendly buses, considering the rising prices of diesel, while recognizing the challenges of the changing times in the future. Explaining that all the transport services in the world are in losses and this is a public service initiative, he informed about various matters such as the commercial transformation of the Vashi Depot being implemented to reduce the loss. He said that the transportation activities are vigilant for the welfare of the employees, and said about the various decisions being taken in the interest of the employees.
