After discharging 3 installments of Pradhan Mantri Samman Nidhi Yojana or PM -Kisan conspires to farmers without inquiring for linkage of bank accounts with Aadhaar Card, Narendra Modi-led BJP government presently appears to be specific that the following installment will be exchanged to recipients whose bank accounts are connected with their Aadhaar card number.

Under PM-Kisan Yojana that was propelled final year, Centre provides salary support of Rs.6,000 /year to all agriculturist families in India in three installments of Rs. 2000 each. The following installment due between December 2019 and March 2020 will be exchanged to Aadhaar confirmed accounts of farmers.

It is for the first time that the Centre is insisting on obligatory condition of Aadhaar seeding for PM-Kisan installment. In spite of the fact that there’s no official confirmation regarding the report so far.   The release of the funds is likely to bring in Rs. 10,000 crore into the economy at a time when economic growth is down and the Government is trying to find ways to re-establish the segment particularly the rural economy.

The report citing an unidentified Agriculture Ministry official said that from the next installment onwards payment would be made only to farmers whose Aadhaar card numbers have been authenticated with their bank accounts”. The official said that the department has verified more than fifty million bank accounts. The official also added saying “We are prepared to pay over Rs. 10,000 crores to farmers in one day. This will boost the rural economy at a time when the GDP growth has hit ten bottom”.
