Panvel Struggle Committee shreds; Statement with evidence given to the Chief Minister of Maharashtra
Panvel: The Panvel Municipal Corporation administration has squandered Rs 1.5 crore on MGM Hospital, deliberately ignoring the state government’s order to provide free treatment to COVID patients in the state. There need to be thorough investigation of this scam. The Panvel Sangharsh Samiti has sent a letter to Chief Minister Uddhavji Thackeray demanding to take back the amount and take strict action against the culprits.
Kantilal Kadu, chairman of Panvel Sangharsh Samiti, has exposed the corruption of Rs 1.5 crore of Panvel Municipal Corporation in the name of COVID patients. At the beginning of the year, the government has paid Rs. 1700 Crore. The state government has issued orders to provide free treatment to COVID patients under that scheme. However, the Panvel Municipal Administration deliberately ignored the order and made a serious allegation that Rs 1.5 crore has been laundered by colluding with retired the Medical Superintendent of MGM Hospital Kamothe. Dr. K. R. Salgautra, said Mr. Kantilal Kadu.
Panvel Municipal Corporation has paid a bill of Rs 66,16,500/- on June 18 and Rs 84,24,167/- on July 20 for the treatment of COVID patients at MGM Hospital. Stating that this is pure corruption, Kadu has torn the veil of the municipal administration and MGM Hospital.
Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, Chief Secretary Sanjay Kumar, Health Secretary Dr. Pradip Vyas has sent a letter to Mahesh Pathak, Secretary, Urban Development Department, demanding action against BMC for deliberately tampering with corruption. Kadu also warned that the funds should be withdrawn from MGM or recovered by the state government from the municipal officials, otherwise the municipal corporation, MGM Hospital and the state government would be taken to court.
Kadu also demanded that immediate orders be issued for free treatment of COVID patients in all the hospitals under the Mahatma Phule Jan Arogya Yojana in the municipal area.
