It is rightly said that Kindness is something anyone can give without losing anything themselves. It is one of the important emotion of life. In other words, Kindness is choosing love over hate, light over darkness and compassion over judgement. World is celebrating World Kindness Day today. The day was first established in the year 1998 by the World Kindness movement. Currently, there are 28 countries involved in this movement whose mission is to create a better world by inspiring individuals and nations towards greater kindness which includes Australia, Canada, Italy, India, UK and USA . In 2019, the organization was registered as an official NGO under Swiss law. The main purpose of the World Kindness movement is to highlight good deeds in the community focusing on the positive power and the common thread of kindness that binds us. The leaders of the coalition believe that kindness is important for it’s the only trait that bridges people across sex, religion, caste, gender and politics.

Around the globe there’s an increase in the number of children diagnosed with anxiety, depression and stress, according to studies .Experts believe that small acts of kindness can make a humongous difference. Science state that Kindness is contagious; the happiness it generates encourages people to do more kind acts. It’s a happy feeling for both giver and recipient. Surprised? A single act of kindness can help not only in  stimulate serotonin production in body, a hormone that’s responsible for mood, sleep, digestion, improved learning and memory but also stimulates oxytocin hormone in body which regulates blood pressure, reduces stress and free radicals in body.

With several pressure, pain, less time and misery around us, we tend to forget the simple notion of kindness, forget about others we even forget to be kind to ourselves. Which is wrong. It is aptly said Be kinder to yourself and then let your kindness flood the world because it is important. Little gestures of kindness can help others to restore a sense of humanity and give you a warm fuzzy glow inside.
