Mumbai: The BMC has set up a two-bed ICU center in a container at the National Sports Club of India in Worli for the purpose of speeding up and providing effective health services. The center was inaugurated by Environment Minister and local MLA Shri. Aditya Thackeray in the presence of Textile Minister. Aslam Sheikh and the Mayor of Mumbai Smt. Kishori Pednekar, this evening on 22nd June 2020.
Shri. Arvind Sawant, MLA Amin Patel, Health Committee Chairman Shri. Amey Ghole, Local Councilor Datta Narvankar, G / South Division Assistant Commissioner Shri. Sharad Ughade, Dr. Muzaffar Lakdawala, Dr. Rajiv Joshi, Dr. Nita Varathi were present on the occasion.
Talking to media, Environment Minister Aditya Thackeray said, “We have made this state of the art facility available for the first time on behalf of BMC. The feature of this facility is that patients in ICU will be able to be treated by doctors remotely.”
He said that it would be possible to treat the patients properly without seeing the doctor. It also has a two-bed ICU unit in a 20 – by – 10-foot container with all state of the art amenities, he said. He clarified that the facility will be launched elsewhere soon.
