Belapur: Eknath Shinde, State PWD minister and guardian minister of Thane district acknowledging the satisfying rate of recovery of COVID-19 patients in Navi Mumbai and the falling rate of positive cases and deaths in the city, expressed faith that the citizens will benefit a great deal from the COVID care hospital at the CIDCO Exhibition Centre in Vashi, the ICU beds and Ventilator facility at the Dr. D.Y. Patil Hospital in Nerul and the oxygen beds facility at the Radhasaomi Satsangh Ashram and APMC Niryat Bhavan in Turbhe and M.G.M. Hospital in Sanpada.

Abhijit Bangar, the Navi Mumbai Municipal Commissioner, in his earnestness to achieve the target of zero positive cases in the city, has gone all out to enhance the COVID care facilities in the city that include – 200 ICU beds and 80 ventilators at the Dr. D.Y. Patil Hospital of which 50 ICU and 20 ventilators were made functional from August 15, a 411 oxygen beds capacity at the dedicated health centre in the Radhasaomi Satsangh Ashram nearing completion, 514 oxygen beds at the APMC Niryat (Export) Bhavan and 75 oxygen beds capacity at the dedicated COVID health centre at the MGM hospital.

The guardian minister inspected all these facilities, that are nearing completion, and expressed that these would be very useful to the citizens, on August 28, accompanied by additional municipal commissioner Sujata Dhole, president of Dr. D.Y. Patil Group Vijay Patil, city engineer Surendra Patil, deputy municipal commissioner (Administration) Dadasaheb Chabukswar, medical health officer Dr. Dayanand Katke, deputy municipal commissioner (Solid Waste Management department) and other officers.
