Mumbai: Criminal Justice has been one of Disney+Hotstar’s most watched show. The platform is all set to launch season 2.  According to spokesperson Samir Nair from Applause Entertainment, states, “This show has earned HotStar the highest number of subscribers.” The series goes live on Disney+Hotstar on Christmas Eve, that is on 24th of December 2020.

In a conversation with makers, Rohan Sippy and Arjun Mukherjee, we learn, Though the series is an adaptation of the British whodunit, They’ve vividly added original flavours making the plot even more exciting to watch. Though the director’s duo remain tight-lipped about the theme of the plot, there is a certain excitement about the whodunit, which according to the duo turns out to become more of a ‘whydunit’.

Pankaj Tripathee and Anupriya Goenka who’ve essayed the famed roles of Madhav Mishra and Nikhat, in season one take the legacy a notch higher in season 2.

As a character Madhav Mishra, is very well received. In a conversation with Pankaj Tripathi, we learn, “I was pleasantly surprised at how well the character of Madhav Mishra is received by most right from season one. Madhav Mishra is armed with more shades of grey; yet is known for having a clean soul. The essence of the character is retained well even in season two.”

According to Anupriya Goenka, “Taking the legacy forward in itself means a lot, cause the same hasn’t been done with the British counterparts. Nikhat as a character is a lot more nuanced this season.”

Kirti Kulhari, who essays the role of the prime accused, Anuradha Chandra, says, “As an actress I’ve certainly enjoyed playing the part of Anuradha Chandra. Dialogues are limited and the emphasis are laid on the expressions and the body language. This is challenging indeed, especially considering how the Indian film industry revolves around the incorporation of dialogues, but I’ve genuinely enjoyed playing this part. It is a refreshing break from what I’ve usually played.”

In a conversation with director Rohan Sippy we learn, “We’ve worked together on a very tight script together with a stellar cast. It cannot get better than that.”

According to director Arjun Mukherjee, “Onlookers will have something to ponder about after watching the series. The revelations are surprising, but thought-provoking indeed.”
