• Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Monday announced a state-wide lockdown.

  • The CM said, “Yesterday we sealed the state borders and today we are sealing district borders. We will not allow it to spread to the districts which are unaffected as of now.”

  • Positive cases of coronavirus rose to 89 in Maharashtra.

  • Closure of locale borders to contain the spread of coronavirus which has claimed 15,307 lives globally.

  • Thackeray pointed out that shops of fundamental commodities like grocery shops, bakery, chemist shops, chemist shops, and banks will stay open.

  • He included that there are a few districts where the virus hasn’t come to and thus such a choice was taken

  • All places of worship including temples, churches, and mosques have been closed and will stay closed.

  • The Chief Minister said, “Private vehicles are completely banned on roads except in exceptional cases it will be allowed.

  • Chief Minister moreover told the home-quarantined not to break the Government’s law and stay at a secure place at a safe distance from their family members.

Taking to Twitter, Thackeray also said, “Take the fight against coronavirus seriously. Don’t play with yourself and others’ health. Section 144 is imposed so that only essential services continue. Don’t bring your vehicles on the road and break the law.”
