The Western Railway has decided to cater new x trains at Nalasopara station, platform Number 7 of Andheri station and platform number 3 of Dadar station. The coach position of Western Railway’s local trains at three important stations – Nalasopara, Andheri and Dadar was changed since yesterday.
Existing 12-car local train’s stop mark will be shifted 66 meters towards the south from existing location on platform number 2 at Nalasopara was informed by According to a senior officer of the WR. At Andheri Existing 12-car local train stop mark will be shifted 10 meters towards the south from existing location and existing 15-car local train stop mark will be shifted 52 meters towards the north from existing location on Platform number 7 and At Dadar existing 12-car local trains stop mark will be shifted 66 meters towards north from existing location on Platform number 3.
“Different stop marks for different trains create confusion sometimes. This move will not help WR but will also be convenient to the commuters.” Stated, Ravinder Bhakar said Chief public relation officer of WR.
Mumbai Central and Bandra will also have different stop marks. After the completion of an on-going work of a foot over bridge the stop mark for 15-car local and 12-car local will be made common at Bandra,It is not easy to shift the stop mark at Mumbai Central, due to crossover as of now. But WR officials are exploring the possibility.
On asking about the significance of compartments of first class, ladies, handicap and luggage, officials stated that “The signage of the affected platforms will be rectified in the corridor block. We are insuring that before the start of the first train in the morning all signs at the platforms”.
