Kharghar: CIDCO has decided to allot plot no. 1A at sector -38, Kharghar to Indian Haj Committee for setting up Haj house and seasonal office. The plot having its proximity with the proposed Navi Mumbai International Airport will be beneficial for the people intending for Haj pilgrimage.
Millions of Muslims from across the world visit Mecca and Medina at Saudi Arabia for Haj pilgrimage which meant to be very important for them. Since the year 1927, the Haj Committee Bombay has been facilitating the arrangements for the Muslims from India to undertake the journey to Saudi Arabia to perform Haj.
Haj Committee is a statutory body formed under the Act of Parliament. The Haj Committee is empowered to make necessary arrangements for the Haj pilgrims in India and have the administration co-ordination with the State or Union Territory Haj Committees. From October 2016, the work related to the management of Haj pilgrimage has been transferred to Ministry of Minority Affairs.
CIDCO has received a letter from Additional Secretary, Ministry of Minority Affairs, Government of India, with a request to allocate 5 acres of land parcel preferably near NMIA for Haj House and seasonal office of Haj Committee. Accordingly, CIDCO has approved to allot plot no. 3A measuring 6000 sq m at Sector -38, Kharghar with lease premium payable Rs. 14,21,94,000/- along with applicable Miscellaneous charges and taxes for setting up Haj house and seasonal office.
