Mumbai: Chief Information Commissioner Y. K Sinha today administered the oath of office to three new Information Commissioners, Hiralal Samaria,Saroj Punhani and Uday Mahurkar. The swearing-in ceremony was organized by the Central Information Commission.With the appointment of these new Commissioners, the total number of Commissioners in the Central Information Commission, including the Chief Information Commissioner, has gone up to eight.
Hiralal Samaria , a former Indian Administrative Service officer, served as Secretary in the Ministry of Labor and Employment before retiring. He holds a degree in Civil Engineering. His studies in the field of administration and governance are invaluable.
Saroj Punhani, an IAS officer appointed to the Central Information Commission as Information Commissioner, has previously served as Deputy Comptroller and Auditor General (Manpower and Training) in the Government of India. He holds a degree in Humanities. His study in the field of administration and governance is characteristic.
