Mumbai: The announcement by Aditya Thackeray, Maharashtra’s minister for  tourism, and environment, that only 10  pre-establishment licences will be required to start hospital business in the State which were earlier  70 licences will go a long  way in development of hospitality sector as it is a capital intensive and long gestation period sector and today even room occupancy in Maharashtra/India is low compared to other developed countries, expressed Vijay G. Kalantri, president, All India Association of Industries.

AIAI further adds that the recent decision taken by the State Government for Hospitality sector will boost new opportunities in the hospitality sector and investments which people were looking at since long.

AIAI appeals to the Government of India also to consider such relaxations in hospitality sector as well as other sectors on same lines to boost investment, employment, export-earning and growth.
