Panvel: 200 widows were given a month’s free essential ration by the Shri Sai Narayan Baba Trust at the temple premises here on October 7 on the occasion of the 200th Sai Vani Satsangh conducted by the founder head of the Sri Bhagawati Sai Sansthan, Panvel, observing all norms of social distancing and wearing of masks.

Sri Sai Narayan Baba, a prolific exponent of the life and teachings of Sri Saibaba, has been conducting the Sai Vani satsangh online, daily, since the temple has been closed due to the lockdown imposed by the government to contain the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Sadguru not only preaches the message of Seva (Service) of Sri Saibaba, but also translates it into action in all the activities of the Sansthan.

The online satsangh has been keeping the Sai devotees of the Sansthan engaged positively in a spiritual realm for over 2 hours daily during the lockdown period, in which the Sadguru has relentlessly been expounding the virtue of ‘Giving in Abundance’ to the lesser privileged in society and the efficacy of the worship of Sri Saibaba.

The Sansthan distributes a month’s free essential ration to 120 widows on the first Thursday of every month, since the last several years. Hundreds of food packets were distributed by the Sansthan daily, during the initial lockdown months to the Panvel municipal and police personnel, stranded migrants and the needy.

The Sansthan’s philanthropic activities include the running of free Balwadi school with books, uniforms, bags and kits given to every student free of cost, a free dispensary for the poor, conduct of free medical camps like Jaipur foot camps, eye check-up camps and general health check-up camps, free milk twice a day to slum children in the vicinity every day of the Holstein cows in the Sansthan’s ultra-modern Gaushala in the temple premises, all essential requirement of the 72 inmates of the LIONS – NAB Home for the aged blind in Khandala, free notebooks to over 600 school students, marriage of daughters of poor, needy families, annual Vishwa-Shanti yagna for World Peace, apart from spreading the message of seva, shraddha and saburi and universal brotherhood.
